Happy Birthday Peace was set up to celebrate fifty years of the universally recognized and used symbol of pro-peace protest. The book that tells the story of the symbol, its creation and use by the many different pro-peace and anti-nuclear protesters of the past five decades, is published around the world in March 2008. It will include some of the peace cards donated to this site by members of the public.
Like the book, the site is packed with information on all aspects of peace and the peace symbol: it's origins, history, information on CND, as well as suggestions and activities designed to encourage the promotion of peace in the world today. There is also a message board for people to discuss their views on peace, and keep the world informed of events highlighting its importance.
